It will be interesting to see how this case. turns out.  A Catholic school fired a teacher for getting pregnant via IVF.  The case is obviously implicated by the recent Hosanna Tabor case, which involved a Lutheran school firing a teacher for violating congregational rules.  (Basically, she threatened to go to court over a dispute over her disability claims, which the school deemed a violation of her status as a teacher.)  Though the court ruled 9-0 in favor of Hosanna-Tabor, the justices disagreed over the extent of what’s called the “ministerial exception,” giving religious institutions exemptions to various aspects of employment law.  Much more to come on this…
